Second… Install Your “Family History” Bookmarks (Favorites)

Now that you’ve got a second browser installed, it’s time to install the Preformatted Family History Bookmarks (or Favorites) you’ll need.  These are shortcuts to the main Internet websites you’ll use while working on your family history.

And, here’s a listing of the Preformatted Family History Bookmarks/Favorites to give you a little more detail as to which Internet sites are included.

Step 4 – Remove the Existing Bookmarks (Favorites)

Follow the Browser Setup Instruction sheet and remove all the bookmarks (favorites) that came pre-loaded on the new browser you’ve just installed.

Step 5 – Load the New Preformatted Family History Bookmarks

Follow the Browser Setup Instruction sheet and install the new bookmarks by:

A)  Downloading the Family History Bookmarks HTML File (get the file here), and

B)  Importing the file into your new browser.

Step 6 – Designate a Home Page for your New Browser

Now finish off the process by designating the “Home Page” you want for your new browser — this is the first page your browser opens up to whenever you open the browser.  We suggest New FamilySearch, but, it’s your Family History Browser, so you can designate any Internet site you want.
